Mac Compatible Tomb Raider (2013) Free on Steam
Get it before its gone on March 23rd
The PC version of the 2013 game Tomb Raider that began the critically acclaimed reboot trilogy is available for free till March 23rd on Steam. The game was ported to Mac in 2014 by Feral Interactive and quickly became a tech showpiece for the platform. Apple often used it as a benchmark of Mac gaming performance in their marketing material and for a time it was the most graphically impressive game Mac gamers stuck on MacOS could get their hands on.
The port was also significant for being on of the first major releases to use Apple’s Metal graphics API. Using Metal the game was able to overcome many of the technical limitations that caused Mac games to perform noticeably worse on MacOS than Windows on even the same machine.
